Champlevé Candle Holder
A handcrafted copper and enamel candlestick holder. The base of the piece is etched copper, and once the rest of the design is formed and soldered, enamel is fired into the troughs formed by etching, using a technique known as Champlevé. The red colour is achieved through the use of transparent enamel – letting the copper hue shine through. The contrasting black is created by using liver-of-sulphur before fixing with a wax.
