Meiji Dream Cloisonne Ring Holder

This unique, one-of-a-kind copper ring holder showcases a stunning cloisonné design, with two shades of green leaves, dark branches, and a rich lapis blue background. It’s a special piece, directly inspired by the exquisite artistry of the Meiji period in Japan.

More than just a ring holder, this is a functional art piece designed to bring lasting beauty and conversation to your space.

This piece was formed from copper sheet. Initially a cone is formed, and a circular piece is soldered to the base to make a solid cone shape. Holes are drilled in the base to allow for expansion. A tiny cone is soldered to the tip of the cone, and a sleeve is soldered to the base of the cone. This creates a channel for the enamel to fill. The ring holder is then meticulously hand-fired with multiple layers of vitreous enamel, a time-honoured process that fuses glass to copper at high temperatures, creating unique and lasting works of art. These objects can be used as a functional ring holder, or displaced simply as it is.
